What I’m Fighting For
Democracy that gives voters real choice
Nothing else works if our democracy is broken. In too many places, elections are decided before voters ever get a real say, and too many people are shut out of the process. I’m running as an Independent because government belongs to voters, not parties or big money. It should be shaped by the people it serves, with real choices and real accountability.
I support:
- Open primaries so every voter can participate
- Ranked choice voting so people can vote for who they believe in
- Independent ballot access reform so voters have real choices
- Overturning Citizens United and reducing the influence of big money
- Banning congressional stock trading
- Strong ethics laws, oversight, and transparency
Accountability and responsible national security
National security is not a game. Our nation’s defense must be rooted in the rule of law and accountability, not unchecked power. That same standard applies at home. National security cannot be used to justify stoking fear in our communities or enforcement practices that treat neighbors like targets. When that happens, trust is broken and communities are made less safe, not more. We must end immigration systems built on fear and invest in one grounded in dignity, due process, and true community safety.
As a veteran and advocate, I’ve seen the cost of war. We must stop sending our friends and our children into conflict and start investing here at home in affordable healthcare, a living wage, and the ability to build a stable life.
I support:
- End the misuse of emergency and war powers that expand authority without accountability
- Restore Congress’s authority over war and ensure public accountability in decisions of force
- Enforce real Pentagon accountability and end unchecked defense spending
- Prioritize diplomacy and de-escalation over force
- End immigration enforcement crackdowns in our communities and the misuse of the National Guard for domestic policing
Protecting civil and human rights
Freedom means dignity, safety, and equal protection under the law. Everyone should be able to live openly and safely, with real opportunity, without fear of discrimination or harm. Americans are done living in fear. Our laws must protect people equally and end the criminalization of people for who they are and the lives they are trying to build. We must fight back against efforts to restrict access to care, limit who can exist safely in public spaces, and deny equitable investment in our communities.
I support:
- Enforce and expand civil rights protections and hold institutions accountable when they fail to protect people
- Defend LGBTQIA+ people’s right to live, work, access care, and exist safely in every part of public life
- Restore reproductive freedom and guarantee access to abortion, contraception, and comprehensive reproductive health care without political interference
- Confront racial injustice by closing gaps in wealth, health, and opportunity and advancing real reparative policies
Healthcare people can count on
Healthcare should be a guarantee, not a privilege. Too many people are forced to delay care, ration medication, or go into debt just to stay healthy. That is not a functioning system. We need a healthcare system that works for people, not insurance companies, and that treats care as a basic right, not something you earn.
I support:
- Lower costs and expand coverage so people can actually use the care they need
- Build toward universal healthcare that guarantees care as a right
- Strengthen and fully fund the VA so veterans get the care they were promised
- Expand access to mental health and preventative care as essential parts of healthcare
- Make sure where you live doesn’t determine whether you get sick
An economy that supports stability and opportunity
People should be able to build a stable life. Right now, too many families are working hard and still struggling to afford the basics. Wages are not keeping up with costs, and the systems meant to provide stability have been weakened. We need an economy that works for the people who power it, not just the people at the top.
I support:
- Raise the minimum wage so work actually pays enough to live
- Strengthen unions and protect workers’ right to organize and negotiate fair wages and conditions
- Expand access to affordable housing so people can stay in their communities
- Invest in public education so every child has a real path to opportunity
- Support small businesses and local economies that keep communities strong
